On Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. the Yarilo Contemporary Music Society will present a roundtable discussion on the life and times of composer Nikolai Korndorf (+2001), at the Canadian Music Centre, 837 Davie St. in Vancouver. In a bid to keep the composer’s memory alive, the discussion will cover a wide range of topics from aspects of his compositional style, personal aesthetic and musical language to informal personal reminiscences, with a special emphasis on Korndorf’s activities as a Canadian composer. The panelists will include Professors Keith Hamel, Robert Pritchard and Owen Underhill, Dr. Jocelyn Morlock and Colin Miles; the respondent will be Dr. Gregory Myers. Everyone is welcome.
