On a lighter note the Yarilo Music Ensemble with guest, Colin MacDonald on alto saxophone presented a French program with the title Two Pianos in the Form of a Pear, on November 9, 2010.
The program featured: Matton’s Danse Brasilienne for Two Pianos; Debussy’s Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone and Piano, Debussy’s Linderaja for Two Pianos; Colin MacDonald’s Skillful Means, a transcription for two pianos and saxophone; Saint-Saens/Debussy’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for Two Pianos; Satie’s Trois Morceaux en forme de poire, Piano Four Hands; Koechlin’s Etude for Alto Saxophone and Piano; J. Ibert’s Two Movements from Histoires for Alto Saxophone and Piano; and ending with Milhaud’s Scaramouche for Two Pianos and Alto Saxophone.
